Year ahead

  • The Procedural Areas Transformation Project will have a significant impact on the way procedural areas operate at the hospital. Projects include a new Clinical Command Centre – which will optimise patient flow through theatres by visually representing the status of theatre in real time via electronic dashboards – together with a new visiting medical officer (VMO) app, a doctor hotline, and new admissions and referrals processes.
  • The GP Education Program is set to expand in the next year with additional events such as education sessions, clinical workshops and case studies.
  • The ‘3Cs’ program focusing on communication, connection and compassion will be rolled out across the hospital to help support caregivers deliver patient-centred care.
  • The recruitment of a Research Operations Manager will enable further research to be implemented across the hospital.
  • The Gestational Diabetes Clinic will expand to include people with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes.
  • Murdoch Community Mental Health’s transition to the newly established Social Outreach division offers opportunities to focus on the role of St John of God Health Care in the community mental health arena, and to coordinate and resource our practice of social outreach to those who are disadvantaged and marginalised.
